just one suggestion : maybe you could add the remaining time of the matches in the java lobby.

I see a lot of things that need to be done, but i understand that your working on it since its in beta lol, but i think a cool feature would be to add an out of game chat lobby for all the players, and also maybe a thing to see how many people are on in general, all the people that are logged on in game and out of game.

Adding the time remaining is a good idea. I have included it in the list of features and I will try to work it into one of the next updates. Thanks Neal.

Suggestion:

A spectator mode would be nice for those who would like to watch a match rather than play it. (if this isnt all ready included in the final version).

Suggestion:

A ladder system would be nice, so that the newer players dont get theyre money jacked by the more experianced players. And have it so the person who sets up the match has the option of only letting people from theyre area of the ladder join in.

great game,
but i think, there should be a way to tell the characters apart, as it is very confusing if it is a team match.

mvgriddles: A ladder system does exist. Beginners will usually play for small amounts of money whereas good players will want to play for more money so that they can compete for any prizes being offered. This effect will be even greater if real money is involved.

The problem with ranking systems is players will never accept challenges from better players. This greatly limits the number of games which are possible as you would have to wait for a player with a similar ranking.

bix06: Players are intentionally made very hard to differentiate in order to prevent players from teaming up. When team play is introduced in a later version of the system players will be colour coded so that it will be possible identify your teammates.

when can we expect a new level?

Anonymous said...

since there isn't a constant stream of people playing, maybe there should be an option to have an AI bot to play against, u know for practice or when we're waiting for a game.

Neal Clark said...

There was a new level added just the other day. If you scroll to the bottom of the list or worlds there is a new 1 on 1 level. During the beta program we are planning to add a new level every couple of weeks.

There are no plans to add an AI bot as it isn't really what this game is about. There are usually a couple of people hanging around in the lobby so if you start a game and wait someone will usually join within a couple of minutes. Thanks Neal.

when will the game be out of beta?
i heard maybe end of the month?

i don't quite get the winnings listed on the bloodtoll website, are those amounts what the players won on top of the initial $5000 u get in the begining or what?

Neal Clark said...

The winnings are exactly that your winnings. The initial $5000 was not won and is therefore not included in the winnings. The winnings are calculated by taking the players account balance and subtracting the money that they were given so for most players it's balance - 5000 = winnings.

are there any hints as to any new exciting stuff that u guys are working on or putting into the game and would like to share? if so please do tell.

Anonymous said...

how come sometimes when u win some money it goes away, like won $5 in a game and it showed up for afew minutes then went away outta no where.....?

Neal Clark said...

The only condition that would cause money appear in your account and then disappear is if you buy into a game and then there are other players still playing disconnect. A disconnect under these conditions is treated as a suicide. This is done to prevent players from intentionally disconnecting whenever their health runs low. If you buy in and all other players have left then you can disconnect without suiciding. You can leave a match without risk of loosing the money for your life if you select quit from the buy-in menu (i.e. you are dead).

In your specific case you must have been playing a $5.00 dollar match and won a couple of lives before disconnecting mid game. The disconnect would have then been treated as a suicide and you would have lost the life you were playing. Therefore the next time the lobby loaded your balance it showed your previous balance - the $5.00 from the suicide.

Hi Bix06, we have not yet set a date for coming out of beta. I posted some screenshots of our progress with the new graphics, and I assure you that it is well on its way. Also please don't feel like you have to wait for the full version. All accounts, balances, and stats will be automatically transfered.

what about the people cheating and getting money i have seen many people doing this including one of my friend popux

Unknown said...

i have seen many players cheating and winning play money including one of my best friend popux due to which i had a fight with him

Unknown said...

you guys should create some more weapons including greanades

Anonymous said...

Can you explain how you think people are cheating?.

Anonymous said...

What do u guys think of making a mode kind of like sniper but with rockets instead, I played an efficiency round and everyone only used rockets and it was so much fun. Maybe u guys can consider putting it in the new version.

Thanks, james

Neal Clark said...

Hi Muhammad,

Our staff watches the system very closely and there is no indication that anyone has been cheating. I have personally reviewed popux's account many times and he does not appear to have ever cheated or even attempted to cheat. Unless you can provide some evidence or specific examples of how people are cheating I'm going to have to disagree with you. The evidence just isn't there to support your claims.

A few weeks back a a couple users decided to try to pass money between accounts in an attempt to increase their winnings but their actions were immediately flagged and the offending users permanently banned from using the BloodToll system. They did not exploit a technical vulnerability in our system but instead engaged in unsportsmanlike conduct. An activity that is not tolerated on our system. Thanks Neal.

Well, one way someone could cheat, is make multiple accounts, then make all of them join one game and kill them all easily.

Neal Clark said...

We already have software in place to automatically detect any such behavior and permanently ban any individuals caught doing so. Opening multiple accounts is expressly forbidden in our terms of service. Thanks Neal.

hey, i gave a suggestion of a rockets match, still waiting for u guys to get back. thanks, james

Neal Clark said...

We have taken your input into consideration and will review all suggestions when selecting the game mode configurations for the next version of Blood Toll. As the new version of the game is a work in progress we are still experimenting with a number of new game modes and weapon configurations. It is likely that there will be a game mode somewhat similar to the sniper mode possibly involving rockets or some similar weapon. But again I reiterate that I can't say for sure as we have not yet finalized our plans. Thanks Neal.

grenades would be good also a mine feature to drop a mine and if they run over it, it explodes, also does anyone want to have a team game at 9pm English time on saturday the 25th of march if you would like to join in or arrange a different time and date email me or add me on tom_louth@hotmail.com

Anonymous said...

PLEASE tell us when the release date is for the new version. It might be a good idea to give us a hint because im sure lots of people want more players and if we got a date, we can tell more people about bloodtoll...and...interest will grow. thanks

Anonymous said...

Ok so...when are you guys gunna convert over to the new engine? because im waiting for a map editor. i e-mailed you guys a whiles ago asking about a map editor and i got a reply from Ian that it would come out when you guys switched over to the new engine.

When you guys decide to answere you can email me here: mc.griddles@hotmail.com

Neal Clark said...

Hi, The reason we have not set a release date is we are still working hard to add new functionality into the game engine. There is still a lot of work to be done and we do not yet have a solid release date. We are looking into the possibiltiy of releaseing a map editor but there are a number of licensing and technical issues that need to be worked out first. Thanks Neal.

Anonymous said...

All right. Just to let you know adding a map editor for public use would lighten the load on you guys because the community will be supplying its self with its on content. Oh and thank you for replying, glad to see that you guys are actually alive :P

Anonymous said...

Ok. I think that Blood Toll needs a forums! Blogs are just kinda annoying to go through and a forums will be much more organized and easier to browse.

Neal Clark said...

Hi McGriddles,

We are working on adding forums, player profiles, clans, player challenges and many other features to the http://bloodtoll.com website. We are planning start rolling out the updated system over the next two months. Thanks Neal.

Anonymous said...

Great! Glad to hear from you guy...again. Another thought. In the Blood Toll Lobby (screen right after Log In) a list of all the players currently playing would be nice. Just so u know some one is on instead of starting a match and blindlessly hoping someone will join in the next 15 minutes.

Of course, it'd be nice if you mentioned anywhere in the terms of service or otherwise that this conduct was not to be tolerated, rather than leaping straight in with accusations of fraud and threats of criminal prosecution, and then going completely silent when queried for details of such fraud.
